Our Story

It all started with preparations for a vow renewal...

Being a plus size woman, Jo was on the hunt for the perfect wedding dress - the dress she felt she wasn't able to wear, let alone find, the first time around. But even 10 years on, she still couldn't find any bridal boutiques that housed or would accommodate her size. Of those that may have been able to, holding a size 8 dress up to her body during the appointment and 'imagining' what it would look like just wasn't cutting it.

 

From this, an idea was formed - what if we could create a place where plus size women of all shapes, sizes and styles had a variety of dresses to try on and choose from, without limitation or compromise?

After hours of researching suppliers, stockists and venues, Curves and Couture was born - a place where plus size women can feel safe and judgement free while they find the wedding dress of their dreams.

Now, Jo and Al are on a mission to ensure that others do not have to endure the same struggles. Their goal is to smash the stigma around plus size in the wedding industry - everyone is beautiful and they deserve to feel it, especially on their big day.
